Note: The only taxes Weldon Spring Residents pay is ½ of one cent should they purchase something from one of our Weldon Spring Merchants - There are no Property Taxes in Weldon Spring.

Business Licenses

Renewable on October 1st of each year.

The cost of a Business License is only $25.00 (whether it be for a Commercial Business or a Home-Based Business). If you operate a business out of your home or you’re a new business within our City; please contact Pat Oldcroft (ext. 100) for any questions or concerns.

Business License Applications can be downloaded from our Business Forms page. It is a four-page form, so download and complete all pages & submit to Pat along with your $25 fee and appropriate paperwork.

Please Note:
We live/work in the City of Weldon Spring, so when addressing your correspondence and official documents or ordering address labels, please use the return address of “Weldon Spring, MO 63304” - not St Charles, MO.

Property Tax

None.
The only tax we get is the ½ cent sales tax that goes to our park, therefore, it is important that you use Weldon Spring as your city and 63304 as your zip. As a matter of fact, when businesses submit their applications for new Business Licenses or for renewals, the City will not accept any application that does not list Weldon Spring as the address listed on their federal or state tax forms.

Permits are required on the following:

Land Use Permits

  • $250.00 for new Construction Residential plus a Cash Escrow Amount of $5,000.00
  • $350.00 for new Construction Commercial plus a Cash Escrow Amount of $10,000.00
  • $150.00 for the following Land Use Permits:
    • Decks
    • Demolition
    • Fences: Land Use Permits are required for:
      • Fences on commercially and industrially zoned property and for Fences abutting roadways (AG and RS-3 used for agricultural purposes are exempt).
      • Architectural Review Commission approval required for fences abutting City Roads.
    • N I D
    • Out Buildings (to include garages, barns and sheds)
    • Retaining Walls
    • Room Additions
    • Signs ($2.00 per square foot)
    • Swimming Pools
    • Tanks (minimum 3 acre lots)

However, permits may be required for other construction projects, as well. So for additional information on permits, please feel free to contact our Zoning Commissioner: Joe R. Nichols at (636) 441-2110 ext. 106. Mr. Nichols is generally available on Tuesdays and Thursdays mornings from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon.
