Here are the following results for this year's food drive!

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to the all ofthe Weldon Spring residents, businesses, and all who contributed toward this year's Tri-City Annual Food Drive Challenge!  The cities of Dardenne Prairie, Cottleville and Weldon Spring again competed to see which community's residents and city officials could collect the most donations.  This is the sixth year for the friendly competition, which ran from mid-November through January 8th, and the official results are in...  After a vast amount of recounts, Weldon Spring was declared the winner!

This was the second year that Weldon Spring accepted donations of pet food and new or gently used pet supplies for a local animal shelter. These donations went to the “Five Acres Animal Shelter” which was formally the St. Charles Humane Society. This is the only “No-Kill” shelter in St. Charles County and relies on private donations in order to operate. “I'm thankful that people came through and donated to Sts. Joachim and Anne and Five Acres,” said Melinda Kwiatkowski, City Clerk, “the trophy and competition are just side pieces to the bigger picture, which is donating to those who are less fortunate." Kwiatkowski says "We wait till after the holidays to turn the food in, because that's when the donations die down and people will always be hungry.” She is glad that the Tri- City Food Drive has developed the reputation that it has and can't wait to keep the tradition going.

Weldon Spring has carried the coveted Cornucopia Trophy home once again! That makes a total of five wins for Weldon Spring, one for Cottleville and none so far for Dardenne Prairie.  As always though the true winners are those who are most in need. The three cities combined to collect a total of 2,548 items to be donated in addition they collected $490 in monetary donations. All of the food drive donations went to Sts. Joachim & Ann Care Service.  Thanks again to all who donated and participated in this year's collection efforts and as always a special thanks to the three City Clerks, Melinda Kwiatkowski, Amy Lewis and Kim Clark for coordinating this year’s food drive and helping to promote it within each community.
